Break out the menorah and the dreidels because Hanukkah is nearly here. The Jewish Festival of Lights, which lasts eight days and eight nights, runs from December 7 to December 15 this year. Many hosts dread the preparation needed to whip together a big meal for Hanukkah, especially after cooking Thanksgiving dinner only a few weeks before. Here are some New York City restaurants that would happily take the stress out of Hanukkah this year, from a smorgasbord of Jewish culinary classics from Katz’s Deli to swanky caviar potato latkes from Caviar Russe.
Katz’s Delicatessen

NYC’s world-famous Katz’s Deli is offering a smorgasbord of Jewish culinary classics for the holiday. The meal package, priced at $175 and suitable for four people, includes one pound of hand-carved pastrami, one pound of hand-carved brisket, two quarts of matzoh ball soup, one quart of full sour pickles, a half-loaf of seedless rye bread, four square knishes, eight mini latkes, one pound of housemade noodle kugel, an eight-ounce jar of mustard, and one chocolate babka. Celebrate Hanukkah with a delicious meal package from Park Slope’s BKLYN LARDER. The restaurant has everything you need, from traditional potato latkes to sufganiyot. Midtown East’s 2nd Avenue Deli has a heaping 10-person Hanukkah feast available. The holiday menu includes the deli’s famous “Instant Heart Attack Sandwich,” which features a generous portion of meat nestled between two large potato pancakes. Liebman’s Kosher Deli

Liebman’s, the only remaining Jewish deli in the Bronx, is offering a variety of meal packages to help you enjoy Hanukkah. Available via Goldbelly for $199, the Chanukah Deluxe package includes 12 potato latkes, one pound of Scottish smoked salmon, eight ounces of crème fraiche, and a 125-gram tin of wild Alaskan salmon roe.
Pastrami Queen

Pastrami Queen, one of the city’s oldest Jewish delis, is a great choice for a mouthwatering Hanukkah meal. Breads Bakery, known for its mouthwatering babka, is selling a variety of meal packages this Hanukkah. You can get a dozen sufganiyot for $39, with an option for strawberry, chocolate, vanilla, and tiramisu fillings. A dozen potato latkes cost $27 and come with sour cream and house-made apple sauce.

Manhattan’s Li-Lac Chocolates has served New Yorkers and tourists alike for 100 years, making it the borough’s oldest chocolate house. Its chocolates are handmade daily in its Brooklyn factory using the same techniques and equipment as when it first opened in 1923. The chocolatier offers a few gift options for Hanukkah, including dreidels filled with gelt, a 20-piece Hanukkah chocolate gift box, a chest of gelt, and menorah pops.
