How does Starbucks Rewards work?
Whether you’re a regular customer or you just stop in on occasion, the Starbucks Rewards Program is a must! First of all, it’s completely free to join. Aside from earning stars for every purchase, they frequently offer special promotions to earn bonus stars.
Here’s a quick overview of how their rewards program works. First, you create an account, which you can do on the app to fully access everything. Then you can start ordering drinks in-store or ahead for pickup and pay however you’d like: cash, card, or in-app. Finally, you earn stars that you can redeem for free treats!
Starbucks Rewards members earn perks with every purchase!
- 25 Stars: Swap in any milk substitutions, syrups, or an extra shot of espresso free of charge. – no change!
- 100 Stars (increased from 50): Enjoy a free coffee, iced coffee or tea, packaged snacks, bakery item (such as a cake pop or cookie), Siren Logo Plastic To-Go Cold Cup 24oz, or a Siren Logo Plastic Hot Cup 16oz
- 200 Stars (increased from 150): Grab a free handcrafted drink (including Cold Brew, Lattes, and more) or a hot breakfast item.
- 300 Stars (increased from 200): Indulge in a free protein box, salad, or sandwich, or take home a bag of coffee (coffee was previously 400 stars)!
- 400 Stars: Signature mug, drink tumbler, or select coffee merch (you’ll pay the difference if the cost is over $20).
Reloading your Starbucks card and paying directly on the app allows you to receive two stars for every dollar. If you pay with your card or cash, you can still scan for rewards and will get one star for every dollar. If you bring a reusable Starbucks cup, you’ll also save 10¢ with every purchase!
