My Adventures with Superman – My Adventures with Supergirl

We have come to the end of one of my favorite shows this summer. Superman is just that a “super man” but take away the sun and he is just like everyone else. A flawed person full of emotions. Brainiac is a fantastic villain because he knows how to hurt Superman without laying a single punch.

Waller tries to stop the robots when the army reinforcements fail and Luther runs away like the self-preserver that he is. He does not care about humanity, only himself. Despite all of Waller’s flaws, she genuinely does care about the planet. Superman’s own reinforcements show up with the help of Steel, Silver Banshee and Livewire to name a few. It was great seeing the heroes and villains work together. It reminded me of the Justice League Unlimited series finale. Also, General Lane did show up to help when it counted. It was unfortunate we did not get to see him and Lois have a meaningful discussion.

You know we have to sit the villains’ backstory as it is with a lot of superhero shows. However, I enjoyed this retcon of the story regarding the last days of Krypton and Brainiac. We got to see an even bigger fight between Supergirl and Superman when she gets brainwashed again. There was a lot of emotional depth when her friends broke the brainwashing. The final fight sequences with Superman and Supergirl teaming up was peak action. The new suits looked amazing and the dialogue was true to the characters. Kara and Clark learning about how the sun gives them their power, I loved seeing that.

I would have loved to see more of the heroes and villains destroying the robots. I also wanted more Jimmy and Kara scenes to define what their relationship is. Although, we got some cute romantic scenes with Lois and Clark – the it couple forever and always.

When the dust settles Waller is on the run with the Daily Planet having reported the truth. Another aspect of the show that I love is how they care about journalistic integrity and reporting facts. One day Perry will scoop Vicki.

With our superhero cousins firm in their partnership, together there won’t be much that they cannot face.

Overall, I loved this season, with maybe a misstep here and there but I give the season a solid 8/10. What did you think of the episode and the season Superman fans? Leave a comment and remember to connect with me on X @jereereviews for even more.
