While fans took over Manhattan streets after the New York Knicks won game six against the Celtics last week, it’s the players’ turn now. Streets across the borough have been temporarily co-named after Knicks players ahead of the first Eastern Conference finals game on Wednesday. Mayor Eric Adams and the city’s Department of Transportation, along with Madison Square Garden and the Knicks, unveiled 15 blue and orange street signs featuring the name and jersey number of current players.

The signs can be found on streets corresponding to each player’s uniform number. Jalen Brunson Boulevard can be found at 7th Avenue and West 11th Street. Josh Hart Street is at 6th Avenue and West 3rd Street, and Karl-Anthony Towns Square is at 7th Avenue and West 32nd Street.

The street signs will stay up through the remainder of the Knicks playoff run. Permanent street co-namings require approval by the City Council.

“The New York Knicks are part of the fabric of our city, and have the best fans in the NBA,” DOT Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez said. “The entire city has your back as the Eastern Conference Finals are underway, and we are proud to rep the blue and orange, including on our street signs. Go Knicks!”

The following streets have been temporarily co-named for active Knicks players:

  • Precious Achiuwa Place: 6th Avenue and West Washington Place

Playoff watch parties are also happening at Jake’s Dilemma, Brady’s Bar, and Amity Hall Downtown, among other bars. The game will not be played outside of the Garden on Wednesday, as it was for previous rounds, but there will be a fan plaza that will run from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and offer fun activities, games, and giveaways from Dunkin. The plaza closes before tip-off at 8 p.m.
