The National Basketball Association world is mourning the loss of Hall of Dikembe Mutombo, who was announced on Monday, September 30, to have died. The NBA confirmed his passing and remembered him by noting in a statement released by NBA commissioner, Adam Silver, posted on X that read, “Dikembe Mutombo was simply larger than life. On the court, he was one of the greatest shot blockers and defensive players in the history of the NBA. Off the floor, he poured his heart and soul into helping others.”
