Four-star Wide Receiver Koby Howard Pushes Back Commitment

Originally set for March 31, Koby Howard will no longer be going public with a verbal commitment on that day.

The four-star Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna star is not ready to come off the board just yet, especially with the always-active spring evaluation period still ahead.

“I’m pushing the date back because me and my dad talked about it and thought it was best to wait and take more visits,” he told Rivals. “We’ll see spring practices and then play my spring game and stuff before announcing my commitment.”

Howard will, however, continue to make the rounds this spring. He has a Thursday trip planned for Florida State before a visit back Florida on Friday. The junior has already been to Miami and Tennessee this month.

In addition to the aforementioned programs, SEC contenders LSU, Ole Miss and Missouri as well as Notre Dame are additional finalists for Howard.

Spring football practices at Chaminade-Madonna begin April 29. The Lions’ spring game is set for May 22. Howard transferred to the national power after a strong junior campaign at Davie (Fla.) Western High School, registering more than 1,200 total yards and nine touchdowns in 10 games played.

Howard tells Rivals he could make a silent college commitment closer to the original timeline, though he won’t work to go public with it until May, at the earliest.

More than 30 programs have offered Howard, a Pensacola native, throughout his recruitment.
