Against the backdrop of the Manhattan skyline at twilight, the cruise ship Celebrity Eclipse glides down the Hudson River, heading for the open sea. The 1,040-foot-long, 122,000-gross ton Solstice-class vessel of Celebrity Cruises had just spent 24+ hours docked at Pier 88 on a rare call at the port of New York as part of a transatlantic cruise.
