Written by Matthew Parkhill and inspired by Andy Lane’s “Young Sherlock Holmes” book series, the show re-imagines Sherlock Holmes at 19 years old. In this story, Sherlock is disgraced, raw, and unpolished, finding himself entangled in a murder mystery at Oxford University that threatens his freedom. Despite his lack of discipline, Sherlock (played by Fiennes Tiffin) uncovers a global conspiracy that changes his life forever.
Firth will portray Sir Bucephalus Hodge. Fiennes and McElhone will play Sherlock’s parents, while Tseng will take on the role of Princess Gulun Shou’an. Ritchie is directing and serving as an executive producer, with Parkhill also serving as an executive producer and showrunner. Additional executive producers include Simon Kelton, Ivan Atkinson, Simon Maxwell, Dhana Gilbert, Colin Wilson, and Marc Resteghini. Harriet Creelman is a co-executive producer, and physical production is managed by Motive Pictures.
