Casa Romantica NEW Events & Programs to Start 2025

Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens (San Clemente, CA), the premier museum destination for arts and culture in Southern California, is thrilled to announce an exciting lineup of events for January and February, with highlights including an interactive art exhibition centered around children’s books and illustrations, family-friendly activities, and classical music concerts set in Casa’s historic Main Salon. I am personally excited about our new exhibition, ‘Brian’s Magnificent Garden,’ which invites both children and adults to explore whimsical tales through enchanting illustrations.”

Visitors can look forward to Brian’s Magnificent Garden, an interactive exhibition running from January 11 through March 9, 2025. Featuring the captivating artwork of beloved children’s author and illustrator Brian Lies, this exhibition invites visitors of all ages to immerse themselves in imaginative illustrations and whimsical tales. The opening reception will take place on January 11 at 10:00 AM.

Casa Romantica will also showcase Historical & Antique Displays. Highlights include the Dining Room’s “Teacups & Spoons” and the Hall of Memories’ “Vases Collection,” inspired by Greeks and Romans. Additional exhibits celebrate San Clemente’s community history, Spanish architecture, Acjachmen culture, and surf heritage. These displays will be on view beginning in January and continue through March.

Family-friendly activities will continue with the popular Family Sundays, offering free admission and creative activities at Casa Romantica. Kick-ing off the New Year is the Chamber Music Day on January 5 and Lunar New Year celebrations will take place on February 2, both running from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. 

Music lovers will delight in a variety of performances. Coffee Concerts, held on January 17 and February 21 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, invite guests to sip High Tide Coffee while enjoying live music for just $8, with free admission for members. Classical music enthusiasts can experience the brilliance of Vijay Venkatesh, an acclaimed pianist performing on January 16, 2025, at 7:00 PM, and the talented duo of Phillip Levy and Tae Yeon Lim, performing famous violin and piano compositions on February 6, 2025, at 7:00 PM. Jazz aficionados can enjoy an evening with Kirsten Edkins, a renowned saxophonist, on February 20, 2025, with a reception at 6:15 PM followed by the concert at 7:00 PM. 

Creative spirits can join Sip & Paint on January 22, 2025, at 6:00 PM. This guided painting session offers an evening of creativity, laughter, and wine, all for $45 ($35 for members), and no prior experience is necessary. Film enthusiasts can attend a screening of the classic movie Gentlemen Prefer Blondes on February 11, 2025, at 6:00 PM, with tickets priced at $10 ($5 for members).
